Customer Review: Not bad...
Summary: 4 Stars

This fan does the job fairly well. The loud clacking you hear when you fold it is annoying but that's just the ratcheting plastic mechanism holding the fan upright. You can press the case of the battery compartment down to avoid the scraping sound. Secondly it doesn't come with a 3V AC adapter. I found a 5V adapter from another electronic device and plugged it in. The voltage difference made the motor spin at twice it's normal speed sending a surprisingly powerful blast of air. A nice little fan overall.

Customer Review: Great little fan!
Summary: 5 Stars

This fan is wonderful! I took it to Egypt with me, and it was definitely the best item that I took. It was small enough to fit in a shoulder bag so I could carry it around with me and it created a good breeze. It's also very tough; I dropped it on a tile floor twice and it kept working just fine. The 2 D batteries that it uses keep the fan going for 72 hours, which was great.

Customer Review: Not so cool
Summary: 2 Stars

I bought one and it worked for about a week, then it stopped working. I thought that it was the charger, but it wasn't. I tried putting a new battery in it, but that didn't help either. So, I exchanged it for another, but the new one did the same thing.

Customer Review: hotflash hell
Summary: 5 Stars

I have MAJOR hotflashes, and this little battery operated fan SAVES me!! I have one at work, and one at home.

Customer Review: AHHHH That's Better
Summary: 5 Stars

This fan is very good for those folks who only get hot periodically and it's GREAT for those women (like me) who are bobbing past the half-century marker and are hot all the time. This fan is fairly light weight, especially given that it has two D-size batteries. It folds for compact use. I take it to class (I'm a teacher) and it sits hidden behind a few books on my desk or inside a podium (the angle is easily adjusted). The fan is extremely quiet, it makes almost no noise (except when folding - more on that in a minute). The batteries last forever. I use this fan a lot and I've only had to change the batteries once (in four months). The fan has two speeds, a low speed for everyday, "Gee, it's quite warm in here," and a high speed for those times when you're tempted to scream, "I'm melting!"

I have two minor complaints. First, when you fold the fan flat for transporting, the mechanism is extremely LOUD. People in the next room can hear me fold up my fan. You would never dream that something so small could make that much noise. Maybe it's only my fan that makes such a racket. Your fan may not have the noise or the noise may not "bug" you as much as it bugs me. Second, while it is possible to plug the fan into the wall with an AC adaptor, the fan doesn't come with one.
