A bit pricy and the joints are a bit loose out of the box. However they can be tighened with a screwdriver, so that is really no problem. May be able to get a better value at a big-box store.
For task lighting this lamp does its job well and works well with a CF bulb. The only other thing that I don't like is that the on-off switch is on the base instead of the lamp head. Some may prefer it this way, but I find it more accessible on the lamp head than on the base (harder to get to).

This is a nice solid lamp. You can put up to a 60w bulb in it which is very bright. The base has a AC outlet built in that I have found handy. The lamp is nice and tall.
I don't know what the problem was with the other reviews here saying that the lamp wont stand up. My lamp stands up fine. There is a screw at the joint, perhaps this screw came loose on some of the lamps.
Overall I am pleased with this lamp.

Good desk lamp! Especially accompanied with Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs. The lampshade is very hot when I use the Incandescent light bulb, but it is not a problem when I switch to Compact Fluorescent Light Bulbs.Customer Review: Great!

I need a desk lamp by the couch for reading. This lamp does the job excellently. It is very sturdy and takes 3 seconds to assemble it. For the price, it is a great deal and great value.
