Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Norelco AL80 Razor Lubricant

Customer Review: Great Product - Hard To Find
Summary: 5 Stars

Thank goodness for Amazon.com. Every drug store and appliance store in my town sells electric razors, but I could not find any store selling the Phillips Norelco HQ110 Shaving Head Cleaning Spay and Lubricant.

Amazon vendor J&R send me an order in December that was destroyed in shipping. J & R was quick to send a replacement that was wrapped with enough bubble wrap for a set of fine crystal.

Some electric razor companies suggest soaking the cutting heads in a bowl of ethyl alcohol every couple of weeks to clean and disinfect the heads and kill any bacteria that might be thriving. A messy job.

With the Phillip Norelco head cleaning spray, you just take the head off and spray each side for a couple of seconds. In a few minutes, the ethyl alcohol has done its job and evaporates, leaving behind a fine coat of light oil to lubricate the cutting heads.

By rinsing the shaving heads under hot water three or four times a week, and spraying the heads with HQ110 every week or so, I expect my shaving head to provide a good shave throughout its lifespan. Unlike the Braun oil I have used, the Norelco spray leaves no greasy residue on the heads. My razor shaves like new.

BUT...why the heck is this great product so hard to find?

Customer Review: Great Product Highly Recommended
Summary: 5 Stars

This seems better than Remington Razor Lube, and at a better price. Quiets the razor and helps the expensive blades last longer. Easy to use and doesn't smell bad, though do not breath it. A quick shot after each shave and after periodic full cleanings helps shavers and trimmers work better and longer than if you did not use a lubricant. I have used this type of lubricant for years and my razors and trimmers last longer than my sons who do not use them. it is an inexpensive investment to prolong the life of your daily used investments.

Customer Review: No way!

No way I am going to pay $4.10 for shipping on an item that cost $3.90!

And the owners manual said to use mineral oil to lubricate the heads.

Customer Review: Norelco AL80 Aerosol Razor Lubricant
Summary: 5 Stars

Good product, works well. But remember, the Norelco owner's manual says you may use mineral oil to lubricte the heads after washing them in hot water. That is a little cheaper; however, the aerosol lubricant may provide some extra ingredients not present in mineral oil. As the saying goes, you pays your money and you takes your choice.

Customer Review: Norelco AL80 Aersol Razor lubricant.
Summary: 5 Stars

Another great product from Norelco. Just spray & let the electric razor run & get the spray into the mechanical components & your razor will cut much better.
