I was impressed with the quality of this product. The picture doesn't do it justice. It's solid and seems very durable; something you'll have for years to come.
The lid has slits, so the steam can leave the dome after baking. So it's not completely air tight. If that's an issue, you can always use plastic wrap or aluminum foil over the top before storing it away.
Last, but not least, you can feel good about buying this product, because it's made in the USA.

I bought 2 of these for the holidays and was shocked to see the quality for the little money they cost. Not only that, but the ease of use, ease to clean and handiness of that made-to-order pie pan lid for transporting the pies all made for one extra festive ho ho ho holiday! I got this before Thanksgiving & have used it several times. I really like it. It is a good size for those oversized pies. I had been wanting to get a covered pie pan for a long time. I have a Nordic Ware heavy-gauge aluminum 9" X 13" covered cake pan that I adore, so I decided to get the Nordic Ware Naturals Hi-Dome 10 Inch Pie Pan with Lid, which is also heavy-gauge aluminum. Another great product from Nordic Ware! Besides being slightly bigger in diameter than a "regular" sized pie pan, it also has a lip all around the outside for juice that might seep out during baking. It is also handy for lifting the pie in and out of the oven. I used 9-inch Pillsbury ready-made pie crusts from the refrigerated section of the grocery store. They were a little small for this pan, so I just floured the counter and rolled the crust a little bigger. They fit perfectly with no stretching. Instead of the usual three 1 lb. cans of tart pie cherries I use to make a pie, I used five cans for the 10-inch pan. It was perfect. I increased the other ingredients in the recipe a bit to accomodate the bigger size, and also baked it about 15-20 minutes longer in the oven. Everyone enjoyed the pie, and it baked up really nice. I really like the plastic dome top, because there are small vents in the top, which allows steam to escape from the pie, when covered. Personally, I would have preferred a 9-inch size pan, but this bigger pan is still a delight to use and clean up. I would definitely recommend this product.
