Customer Review: Almost perfect.

Well built, attractive, functional, a good value. I was impressed by all the features mentioned in the description and other reviews. However, there are a few annoying design details that could be easily remedied by the manufacturer. These may be features you should look for in other units as well. I think they should be standard on any TEC wine cooler.
1.) Add a 'black out' button. Or add additional functionality to the existing lighting button. While you can turn the interior lights on and off independently for each section(redundant), both (very bright blue)temperature indicators as well as useless led lights on the circuit boards in the rear cannot be turned off. The rear lights(red and green) can be plainly seen through the side vents of the unit at all times yet there is no indication anywhere what they mean. Does the red light mean something is wrong with my unit or simply that it is on? I will always wonder.
Problems 2 and 3 can be remedied by a single redesign.
2.) While just deep enough for many bottles, 1 in 10 bottles we tried to place in the unit were too long by less than an inch and would not allow the door to close. Also, for any standard bottle that does fit, if you open the bottle and don't finish it immediately, replacing the cork makes the bottle too long to fit so you cannot return it to the cooler.
3.) The unit is not silent and it could be. The 2 fans that produce the only noise coming from the unit would not be necessary at all if each cooling section used multiple smaller peltier units in place of a single large unit.
Without the fans, not only does the unit become silent but the inch of thickness they occupy in the rear of the unit can now be given over to increase the interior space for bottles without changing the exterior size at all.
