Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of New Wave Enviro Premium 10 Stage Water Filter System

Customer Review: Affordable and Well Designed
Summary: 5 Stars

I've had my New Wave 10-stage water filter system for about 12 years, and I love it. It's an affordable, effective, green product that does what it's supposed to. Occasionally I have to replace the diverter valve, but they're about $10. You also don't absolutely have to replace the valve if it breaks, you just shut off the filter manually if you don't feel like replacing it. Other than that, and a thorough soak in bleach occasionally and cartridge replacement, it's maintenance free. Another great bonus is that the New Wave Enviro people provide excellent customer service. When I moved into a new home and needed an adapter that I must have lost years ago, they sent one no charge. You wouldn't get that service at a BMW dealership, never mind for a filter that's under $100.

Customer Review: Awesome water filter for your tap! Gotta have it.
Summary: 5 Stars

I didn't even bother looking at other products. Whole Foods had this for a lot more. I put the name into Amazon and poof, got my product $20 cheaper! Oh yeah! :-)

I wrote another review on a similar product. It's the same idea so I pasted it here. I hope you found it helpful. I write with sarcasm but I sincerely hope you like this product and we all do our part to protect this earth. It's not just about clean water. It's about life!

Pasted part:

Amazon shipped and sold this. I requested the free shipping and it came much faster than expected. Thanks Amazon.

This was like $25 more at Whole Foods, which likes to eat my Whole wallet. I started getting things like this after watching the movie Tapped. Here's the premise: corporate interests are after the next best thing from oil. Namely, water. It is an $800+ billion dollar business in just bottled water alone. Many years ago, people said "why would I buy bottled water when I can just get it from the tap" Enter the sucker and the sucker's kids.

Don't worry, I'm one too. OK, so companies like Nestle are using natural, untouched water supplies in places like beautiful Maine, for free! Then turning around and selling this for huge profits to people in the name of Poland Spring.

Problem 1: drought and depletion of natural resources. In the future (20 years), there will only be enough water for 1/3 of the population. The other 2/3s will be licking their lips and wishing they were living next to a REALLY good water filter.

Note: All public water is regulated and CONSTANTLY tested. Bottled water is not. I can put jack squat in effort into making a new bottled water company and I don't have to publicly declare this unless someone happens to inquire. Hmm. .

Problem 2: The bottled water you buy is made from the same chemicals as Petroleum. Once the sun hits it, there IS EVIDENCE that this will leak/leech/what have you into your water. Next step, you drink it then feel sick. Symptoms in the long-term are associated with diabetes, dementia, obesity, cancer, you name it.

Problem 3: The bottles we use are being chucked out into natural water supplies. Most of the oceans in the world are a slurry of junk that no one really cares to pick up. I'm pointing at you polluter! You know who I'm talking about.

Back to the water filter. If you get this, you may think about changing your shower head so that you don't push out any residual.

Pro: No more odd smelling water. I live in Chicago and the water here is treated with high amounts of Chlorine. Not good for the body, skin, hair, etc. I remember in places like New York, the water was great.

Cons: None

Note: As a further note, let's all do our part to help the environment. Right?

Note 2: If you need a water bottle, get something with stainless steel or glass. It's the best.

We all have to live in this world and we can't keep just messing things up. Our kids are gonna have a long time to deal with this and so will we if we want to live here.

I hear the moon has some places for rent. Any takers? Nah, didn't think so. Put your hand down polluter!

Customer Review: Best Water Filter on the Market
Summary: 5 Stars

I love the 10 Stage Water Filter and considering friends who own different brands, I find the 10 Stage to be the best. The water tastes great, and the company will remind you when it is time to replace the filter. Replacement is dependent on the number of members in the family and can vary from 12 to 18 months...better than the 2 or 3 months of other filters. I highly recommend this water filter system.

Customer Review: Best water filter I have found
Summary: 4 Stars

I have tried a lot of filters the ones you can buy in supermarket and I go through them in a month. I drink about a gallon day myself I figured the price difference between both. Also between those filters you can buy in the supermarket and others I have tried this filters taste better even better than bottle water. I lived where there is hard water, sulfur water this cleans that water even clorine(sp)burn from city or town water. In the long run without buying any bottle water and without changing filter every month or other and the taste of clean water you can't go wrong.

Customer Review: Better than MOST FOR THE DOLLAR
Summary: 5 Stars

We have tried & tested several other water filters, they all work in varying degrees to remove chlorine as well as many other contaminates in our drinking water.

We liked this one because of it's 10 stage filtering as well as the way the filter is constructed which gives you a MUCH better bang for your buck (if your city water supply is not really loaded with pesticides, protozoa & excess chlorinates) because you may have to change the filter only once a year, however,I would not go beyond 15 months.

We must say that this one does a much better job than the Aquasu... & they love to get you on their auto ship program for the replacement filters which can cost you 2 1/2 times the cost for replacing the New Wave Filter.
