I absolutely hated the beer that came with the Mr Beer kit. I wasn't going to give up though and am glad I didn't! This one is EXCELLENT. There is a great forum online that caters to the Mr Beer enthusiasts, and it is QUITE helpful with lots of good suggestions. The most important one is, beyond mixing instructions, ignore the rest. Go with the 2-2-2 rule and you can't lose. That's 2 weeks in the fermenter, 2 weeks in the bottle to condition tucked away in a dark place, and 2 weeks cold conditioning. I noticed after the first couple bottles, that when I had chilled them, if they were left out at room temp for several days or more, then put back to chill, ice bucket or cooler or whatever, there was a beautiful thick head, and the taste was even more amazing... and that was all without any additions of extra sugar during preparing the wort. I ordered another refill of this, and while I really want to try some of the suggestions here, it will be hard to mess with what I consider to be perfection!
