I haven't yet used my pot, but I have some possibly helpful info for potential buyers . . .
1) I bought my pot from another website for $120 instead of the $170 currently charged at Amazon (both figures include shipping costs). My pot is labeled with the German maker's name (Gairtopf) instead of the importers name (Miracle) but the Miracle name is on the literature. The pot looks great, but there is a slightly "earthy" smell (natural to pottery?) even after cleaning, the outside glaze is here and there broken with very tiny white dots of what I think were glaze bubbles that have burst to reveal the underlying pottery (probably unimportant cosmetic), and the inside of the lid is not glazed. I don't know if all of that is the same for the pots labeled with the importer's name -- but would be interested if some future reviewer here can tell me.
2. The literature is in English, but the recommended temperatures are all centigrade. Here are some conversions for you. 20/22/15/18/5 centigrade = 70/71.6/60/65/41/60 F. Also, the recommended amounts for the 7.5 liter pot are from 3.75 kg to 6 kg which is 8.25 to 13.25 lbs. and 15 grams of salt = 1 t.
3. I haven't used the pot yet because I'm still experimenting with techniques for keeping the pot at the desired temperature for each stage of fermentation. Right now it's sitting on my counter (with a room thermometer inside)wrapped in toweling covered with a heating pad set on low. :)
