Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Mighty Putty 3-PackCustomer Review: I thought it was just me! Summary: 2 Stars
I buy all my As Seen On TV Products from WalGreens so that I can take them back if I don't like them. I bought the mighty putty for future use, but when I got home I noticed that someone had damaged my address sign I keep in my yard. I proceeded to use the putty to reattach the PLASTIC letters. 2 days later and the letters still fall off when you touch them so I cleaned everything and tried again. This stuff is nothing more than Play-Doh.
That Click-A-Dent by Billy Mays also doesn't work. The Kaboom toilet foam doesn't work and, although Kaboom works, Arm and Hammer Bath cleaning products work much better and easier.
Edited to add: When I took the product back to WalGreens, the manager said it worked for him. He said he was able to reattach plumbing using it.
Customer Review: I was skeptical, however tried it out for $10, instead of calling a plumber! Worked!! Summary: 5 Stars
Our house was built in 1948, however was remodelled when we moved in. Naturally, a few plumbing problems were expected. Since we lived in our home, we have had a few plumbing issues that we hoped to fix (on our own), since plumbers charge way too much. Thanks to Youtube, we watched a few plumbers fix tub and sink issues, so we ran down to our local Ace Hardware and fixed leaky faucet, replaced valves ourselves. Last summer, under our kitchen sink, a massive hole ripped through our main water pipe, which was a pretty big pipe, 8 inches all around. The pipe had rusted, eaten through. My husband could not remove the pipe to replace it, because the base part, was behind the wall. Since we only have one kitchen sink and our dishwasher hooks up to the same water source, we had to fix this problem right away. I heard about plumber's putty, but then found this product, by chance and decided to go for it, since I didn't want to pay a plumber $1,000 to remove the pipe, and replace it. Anyway, Target (the store) carries this stuff. The hole was so big, I didn't think plumber's putty would work. These come in thick bars. My husband got the pipe super dry with a blow dryer, then he molded each bar to fit. Each bar was also blowdried. You must follow directions, to exact, to get this stuff to work. Anyway, longer story short..... It's been almost a year and this stuff has held up. No leakage at all. Much better to pay $10 on this, then $1,000 on a plumber. I think all the bad reviews are from people wanting to hang stuff with this mighty putty. I am giving it a 5 star, for filling pipe only (plumber purpose only).
Customer Review: It does not stick to anything I have tried so far. Summary: 1 Stars
I tried to hang a small light weight piece of wood shelf to the inside of a cabinet and it would not work. I also tried to re-attach a ceramic pices from a cookie car lid and it would not work. I want to send it back. Can you help me do this nad get me my money back? Do you provide free shipping?
Customer Review: Just does NOT work .. Summary: 1 Stars
Don't bother buying this stuff .. first of all its expensive and second of all .... IT DOES NOT WORK. I have tried it on my cup, faucet, my shoes. Actually anything and everything I have tried. So my suggestion, don't waste your money on this one.
Customer Review: MIGHTY JIP! Summary: 1 Stars
I work for a mechanical contractor and can tell you that this stuff is exactly like something called "thumb gum". it can seal basic things like out door electrical connections or small holes in concrete, but to count on it to hold things to the wall or water under pressure? come on!
look in consumer reports, they do a article on this guy. his products are a joke. i think he's vying to become the milky way galaxy's representative for the Douche Bag of the Universe Award!
