We are serious rice eaters and was given this rice cooker as a gift from my mother-in-law in South Carolina many years ago. I was so glad to see I can order another from here. This is the best way to ensure that your rice is perfect everytime, regardless of what kind you are cooking. All our friends, family members and our grown children have wanted my MIL to send them one from the country store in SC. This makes a great gift as it also works well as a steamer. I have even steamed crab legs in it! FOR RICE: Equal parts water and rice, add salt...high boil approx 30 minutes and voila! (experiment with the time to get the rice as you like it)
