Customer Review: Cool Product and Easy to make cutom front panels!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Got mine as an early father's day gift. It must be a new model, put the thermostat all the way and in a couple of hours the coke's were nearly frozen......iced out. Now I leave it at the half way mark, works less to keep it cold and the coke are still damm cold.

Panel Tips and Cards!!!

I made a custom NBA logo for the front. Awesome!! I took the Lakers,(yea i know but I'm a die hard fan from the 80's) desktop paper from their website and took it to a local digtal/blueprint shop. They took the jpg picture and printed it on Transparent film, so that the black light could shine through. It came out clean. But I was worried about protection, so I had it laminated w/ 10mil clear. Now it should last years and no one else has a NBA panel. It did cost about $50 though. It important to note that the original skybox material and panels are made from lexan...not really clear and made more from a durability stance. The transparent film is much glossier by 200%. And the Lexan it to expensive to buy a small sheet.

As far as the skybox cards go, just do a search using yahoo or google images search. Type in your search....ie Coke, Budlight etc. Then make sure the image is at leat 200k or so in size so the quality is decent. Print the image to 3.5" wide by 2.25" high fiting the image to that size on glossy photo paper and bend the end and your set. I might try using transparent film for sky box cards too in the future....i tried printing on transparent paper.....but it came out w/ no white in the print. Well hope this was helpful.

If you need help or questions about my NBA panel, hit me an email at jreyes63@aol.com. I'll post a pic of it at http://skyboxcards.com/v-web/gallery/skybox. See ya.

Joe.

p.s. I'm looking for a good corona, corona light and newcastle image/scans.

Customer Review: Cool and not cool part II
Summary: 3 Stars

After posting a fairly favorable review yesterday, I must agree with Robert's point that the unit does not cool to as low of a termperature as advertised (35 to 40 deg). After 48 hours I have only gotten the temp down to 42 deg. which is not acceptable to me. I will call Maytag tomorrow and if they do not have a solution, this thing may be going back!

Customer Review: Cooling issue
Summary: 4 Stars

I got my skybox about 2 or 3 years ago and it has worked great. Beverages are always cold and besides a few dispencer clogs once in a while, it has worked flawlessly.

Based on some recomendations in the reviews I read I recently unplugged the unit and defrosted it because of more frequent hang ups and clogs. After I finished defrosting the skybox and plugged it back in, for some reason it will not cool. Every once in a while it clicks and sounds like the cooling unit is kicking on but the temperature does not change.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Customer Review: Cooling update
Summary: 3 Stars

I called Maytag. They sent out a technician. Cooling fan was installed backwards - thus air not flowing as designed. He fixed and now my temps have gone from 42 to 46 down to 37 to 42. Significant improvement, but still a little warm for the upper bin. I have not decided what I will do regarding return, yet. However, for those that have the unit, you may want to consider calling for service if you are having problems. Based on the technician's conversations with his main office, it sounds like many of these cooling fans may have been installed backwards.

Customer Review: Disappointed with Service
Summary: 2 Stars

The price is not too bad, the size is a plus. The bottom stand is difficult to assemble. It keeps things nice and cold. I needed service 3 weeks after i got it, between service calls, ordering parts and everything 10 months went by, finally I demanded a new unit. It came the day my warranty was up. The replacement unit does not function well either, so here we go again Thank goodness I did take out the 3 year extended warranty, please make sure you have that if you get a skybox, you will need it.
