Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Margaritaville DM1000 Frozen Concoction MakerCustomer Review: Great Frozen Drink Maker Summary: 5 Stars
I was somewhat on the fence about this item especially when I saw the price in other catalogs. Amazon had it cheaper (like usual). I decided to try the item and return if not happy. I was blown away by how good the drinks were. This is an excellent frozen drink maker for use during the hot summer months. It's pretty much idiot proof. You follow the instructions and it makes great drinks. The only downside is that all drinks must conform to the standard proportion recipe. Stray from it, like my wife did once, and it makes lousy drinks. Follow the instructions, and the drinks are flawless. The price seems somewhat high. However, the quality of the item justifies the price.
Customer Review: Great Frozen Drinks and Entertaining Too! Summary: 5 Stars
This thing makes the best margaritas and frozen drinks (don't follow their recipe!). This is the only way to get really slushy mags with out having an ice crusher or killing you regular blender. Simply put ice cubes in the top, mix in the bottom, set how many drinks you want to make and hit "start". It does the rest and puts on a great show for everyone watching. It's all automatic. Seems very well made. Watch out for the switches on the front, they are plastic and look like they could be broken off easily.
Customer Review: Great Gift!! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought two of the Margaritaville machines for co-workers. They have been raving about it ever since. In one case it has became a permanent appliance sitting on top of the kitchen counter right next to the toaster. I havn't experienced it yet, but my co workers are having blast making all types of frozen drinks.
Customer Review: Great Item, Pricey, but works great in our bar! Summary: 5 Stars
Ok, two things. I just read the review from the fella that says he makes lot's of Margarita's, and lives in Texas. He says that it's not much better then a $30 blender. Hmmm. The one I bought for my wife works wonderfully. And it does make the slurpy style Margarita! Not chunky at all!! Me thinks you got a bad one, or you are doing something wrong Tex. I hope you get yours fixed or something, because ours works, great! However, I do agree that if you follow the recipe, as he says, you do get the water downed version. I am presently going to work on that. But I think as he eluded to, you might have to change some ingredients around a bit to get what you want there. More booze, less mix, I don't know. Have to experiment. Can't blame that on the machine. The machine appears to, in my opinion, do exactly what you would expect it to do. The best part is that it isn't a cheap blender. It's a hefty addition to your bar. You won't knock this puppy over. It's solid. That just gives you a good feeling about it right there. It does not take long for it to make it's magic either! We followed the instructions to the letter, and Wham Bam, thank you Mam! Three perfect consistency Margarita's were mixed and ready for us to enjoy. Honest, it worked fine.
I also agreed with the fella that said he laughed when he thought: "Who would buy a $300 blender!" That was me also. After I read his review, well, I bit my lip, paid the dough, and hoped for the best. Well, I am here to tell ya, we are not disappointed in ours. Not one bit. Is it worth $300? I don't think so. That sounds contradictory, I know. Let's face it. $300 bones is a lot to cough up. But if you have an in home bar, or you just want to make great Margaritas and frozen drinks at home, this really is a good item. And $300, is still... a lot of money. I think $200 would be a much fairer price. But I'm a cheapo. (My wife loves her birthday gift, that made all the difference to me!) :-) Get one. You won't regret it.
Customer Review: Great Machine Summary: 5 Stars
Makes great margaritas. I like the way the consistency can be adjusted to create drinks from frozen to "on-the-rocks" without the ice cubes.
