Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Magic Bullet Express 17-Piece High-Speed Blender Mixing System

Customer Review: Amazing for breakfasts!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is a handy little blender that works wonders for making omelets and scrambled eggs. Just add your onions, peppers, eggs and milk in, blend it for 5 seconds and you're done. Also used it very successfully for iced coffee and to grate some Parmesan cheese. Cleaning it is as easy as filling a cup with water & dish soap and running it through a Pulse blend a few times.

Don't expect this to blend whole fruits or crush ice on a regular basis; it's mainly a single-serving table top blender for ordinary cut-up ingredients, and it does that job wonderfully well.

Customer Review: An Appliance that Earns Its CounterSpace
Summary: 4 Stars

This is one of the best appliance purchases I have ever made. It sits on my countertop and gets used every day.

Let me admit straight away that the magic bullet doesn't do _chopping_ very well. The motor is so powerful that it will _blend_ or _pulverize_ almost everything that you put into it. So why do I love it so much?

When I want to make a smoothie, I don't want to haul out the big blender and deal with cleaning it. When I want to make minced garlic, the food processor is too large for the task. The beauty of the magic bullet is that it makes all your smaller household tasks a snap with _beautiful_ cleanup.

The fact that you can put the cups and blades into the dishwasher makes all the difference. On a typical day, I'll use one of the cups to make myself a blended coffee with breakfast. At dinner time, I'll use the small cup to make minced garlic for whatever I'm cooking. Also, sometimes I'll use it to grind my own meat, make dips, spreads, or anything small.

Customer Review: Another "made in China" piece of junk bites the dust....
Summary: 1 Stars

Don't waste your money on the ridiculous shipping charges on this plastic piece of junk. Just buy a REAL blender at a store near you. I made the mistake of ordering this "Magic" Bullet online and paid $35 in shipping charges (only $4 less than the piece of junk cost me!). So I've lost that money AND I have to pay for return shipping cause it's going back. So I'm pretty much seeing red right now.

The FIRST and only time I used it was to make a smoothie out of plain yogurt, frozen strawberries and banana, something that ANY blender can handle. Put in the yogurt first, then the strawberries. The product didn't seem to have enough power to chop well and liquefy the frozen strawberries and pieces got stuck under the blade. So I removed the cup and turned it upside down, tapped a little, then pulsed some more. Still not good enough. So I put it in "lock" position for a few seconds and back to pulsing. It seems that turning the cup into the lock position, pulsing, then removing it and pulsing for the last time, loosened the blade attachment just enough so that the contents poured out the bottom and went into the motor, which really has no protection against liquids going down into it (a MAJOR flaw). The motor smoked, I unplugged it immediately and the smoothie not only went into the motor, but came out the bottom of the unit base. I had no idea the blade had loosened.

Ruined, with the first use. What appliance is that undependable??? It's absolutely unbelievable and unacceptable. Especially since I have an old Osterizer blender with a glass container that I've had for about 26 years that still works perfectly, made in the USA, when things were still made here. Should have just stuck with what I had instead of trying to have a new gadget. All the Magic Bullet did was make a mess, burn itself out, and cost me shipping and now return shipping, and a major inconvenience of returning it.

Customer Review: Anyone else know the Magic Bullet Conga? Come join me...
Summary: 3 Stars

I just got the bullet the other day (after significant research), and was super excited about it. However, my thought was that it would chop veggies in seconds the way the advertisements suggest. I was making chicken quesadillas last night and I filled a cup with larger slices of green bell pepper and tried the "pulse method". The bottom became soup and the rest was untouched by the blade. I did the "shake method" and tried again. No success. I tried tapping. I was basically doing everything I could think of, including what looked like a "Magic Bullet Conga" in my kitchen. *sigh* I dumped the half-liquefied, half solid peppers back onto my cutting board and chopped them by hand. Next, I tried the same routine with half of a sliced onion. Again, I followed the instructions and eventually gave up and sliced them by hand as well. This went on for the various ingredients that I needed in my recipe. I tried switching blades. I tried different sized cups. The only thing it did a successful job with was the fresh cilantro (which is like parsley leaves). I needed it pureed and thankfully it did that. I wanted to love this product as much as everyone else does! On a positive note, the clean up was a breeze! I refuse to feel defeated by it. I thought I'd read everyone else's reviews and have decided that perhaps I didn't properly read the instructions - I must be missing something - and I will do that before my next attempts and hopefully come back with a glowing review.......???

Customer Review: As advertised!!! Awesome product!!!!
Summary: 5 Stars

I don't know why so many people are putting this thing down. I have had NO problems with it, and I have had it for over a year. The person complaining about the "host" on tv not having to scoop out chunks etc., is nitpicking little things. In my opinion it is better than any blender I have ever owned, and I have had at least 4 blenders, the last one was a smoothie maker. I thought that was the best blender out there, but I was wrong.

This thing chops, blends, and pulverizes. I made my own peanut butter the other day, and it was yummy! I just bought some peanuts, put them along with canola oil in the bullet and pulverized it. Then I added some splenda to sweeten it, and it was a great sugar free peanut butter. I have also made smoothies with it, and I HAVE chopped ice with it plenty of times, and when the bullet is done with it, the ice looks like powder, so the ones out there saying it does not chop ice good, well they may have a defective product. I love making pina coladas with it also.

I am currently on a low carb diet, and this bullet is great for making low carb recipes. Especially ones that call for using crushed pork rinds as a breading. Before I had to crush the rinds with whatever I could find, and I was always left with big chunks, but now I put them in my magic bullet, and I am left with a fine powder.

Clean up with this product is a breeze. When I am done, all I have to do is rinse the blades under hot water, and that's it. If it's something messy in the cup, most of the time I soak it in hot water and dish detergent, and wash it later with no problem. All I have to say is FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS!!!! Read them first before you attempt to use this product! It will help you to keep it in good shape!
