Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Magic Bullet Express 17-Piece High-Speed Blender Mixing SystemCustomer Review: A Lot Better Than Expected Summary: 4 Stars
After seeing the infomercial about a million times, I finally got the blender, and it was a lot better then I expected it to be. I made frozen drinks with it, and they turned out very nicely. I also tried the chocolate moouse, which wasn't bad either. I see so many people saying its terrible. Well just follow what Mick and Mimi do and everything should work out pretty well. At times it gets annoying to clean, but in the end its worth it. For the most part it's "OUTSTANDING", and not "A Production".
Customer Review: A Must Have for the Kitchen! Summary: 5 Stars
I highly recommend this product to anyone that likes to speed up things in the kitchen. This product is everything that it says*
Customer Review: A Potential Customer Speaks Summary: 2 Stars
I've seen the Magic Bullet food processor advertised on television and the web. I must admit, it's a tempting piece of equipment - it looks to be the perfect solution for a single cook who (like me) wants to make small amounts of things without having to extract the result from the bottom of a big blender. The concept is neat and, from what I've seen in the adverts, it seems to work.
However, I don't own one. Even current offers that throw in everything but the kitchen sink as an inducement haven't tempted me. Why not?
Firstly, the thing is hideously overpriced. In my opinion it is worth roughly 50% of what is currently being charged.
Secondly, if ordered from their website (www.buythebullet.com) you had better check the Shipping and Handling charges, which amount to a massive 40%(!) of the purchase price. Oh, and as I live in Hawaii I get charged an additional (non-negligible) amount (around 13% of the purchase price) to have it shipped to me.
I can't bring myself to pay what I consider an exorbitant price for this product. It's a shame, because I am sure it is good and that I would get some use from it. But it just feels like too much of a rip-off.
Customer Review: A Waste Of Money! Summary: 1 Stars
I bought mine thinking the concept was great, I still think the idea is good. However, I used mine ONCE and it stopped working. I pulsed it and did not leave it on more than 10 seconds to make a smoothie and it stopped working. I thought maybe it needed to cool down, but the next morning I tried again and it wouldn't work at all. This is VERY cheaply made.
Customer Review: A bit of a learning curve Summary: 3 Stars
I was thrilled the first few times I used it. Then the tiny gasket kept slipping out, getting caught in the crossblades. I called Customer Service to request more. Aaaarrrrgggghhhh! The rep told me that unless I gave them certain proof-of-purchase info (I forget what, but it was something I had discarded, I think -- certainly not the receipt), they would not even SELL the gaskets to me. He simply tried to tell me the correct way to insert a gasket. Read the instructions carefully. NEVER run the motor for more than one minute or you can burn it up. When you twist to place the cup in lockdown position, don't keep fiddling with it or you'll have spills. Pulse at 1-second intervals when chopping. Put ice cubes in first, next to the blade. Don't pack smoothies tightly or you'll end up with a smoothie on-the-rocks. Although some parts are dishwasher-proof, I always handwash. Now it's a joy to use. I haven't had it long enough to know about the longevity. It's hard to recommend a product after a bad experience with Customer Service. When I have to purchase another one, I think I'll invest more money into a more user-friendly -- and Customer Service-friendly -- unit. As far as what you get for the money, if I hadn't had these problems, I would give it 4 stars for simplicity and convenience.
