Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Magic Bullet Express 17-Piece High-Speed Blender Mixing SystemCustomer Review: "Good for daiquiri" Summary: 4 Stars
This is an expensive way to make shakes, but at the same time is less messy if you only want a glass or two. I like to make daiquiri and this way I can make different flavors for each one without having to wash the blender in between...So far it's working fine, I'll get back if something goes wrong. Enjoy.
Customer Review: "Magic Bullet"? Well, its a food processor. Summary: 4 Stars
Before I address my experience with this, I see lots of people's broke really fast the first time they used it. Let me just say: when we bought ours it had a one-year-long money-back guarantee. We've had ours for much longer than a year and it has never broken.
Anyways. The Magic Bullet is a great blender for cold drinks (yes, ice works FINE in it), food processor for cooking (way handy for whipped eggs with a whipping blade or to chop veggies, etc), and whipper for hot drinks (we use the whipping blade to make whipped hot chocolate, chocolate milk, tea, etc). We never use our blender anymore, and we don't have a food processor, so we use it when we want to blend smoothies or to cook or make nice Starbucks-esque hot chocolate.
We have a family of 3, so it doesn't get used TERRIBLY often. Maybe once a week at most. But we really do love it. It is a fine little machine.
It mushes salsa to bits. Sometimes, the things get stick in it and you are hard put to take out the cups. Occassionally, the cups will not fit all the way down into the Bullet like they should, and it has to be carefully cleaned in all the nooks and crannies with an ear swab and some rubbing alcohol. Other than that, though, it works like a dream.
In the past month, I personally have used it:
to blend some strawberries and cream together for a tart
to crush oreos into dust for a pie
to whip hot chocolate
to make a Chai Mocha Hot Chocolate
to beat eggs for meringue
It does all of those things MARVELOUSLY. We like it, it saved us money because then we didn't have to buy a blender AND a food processor, and we've never had need for either with the Magic Bullet.
Excellent, that's what I say.
Customer Review: "gotcha piece" Summary: 1 Stars
The "gotcha piece" I am talking about is the plastic gear on the base unit that drives the blade unit. It is the piece they make out of plastic so when it breaks you buy another unit. I have had two Magic Bullets and in both cases this piece broke. If they would make it out of metal it would not break and your unit would last longer(duh!). I will not buy another one. I will go back to a blender.

Customer Review: 2 years and going strong Summary: 5 Stars
I bought my first one when I was pregnant with my daughter who is almost four. Two years ago we moved and the movers lost the base so I bought another one. That is TWO bases that have lasted TWO YEARS each. ALL of the cups and blades are still working, although after all the use they have gotten the blades are starting to get dull. I mostly make smoothies and shakes, but it is good for making nuts into small pieces for recipes or for nut butter as well as chopping other stuff. I also use it to mix pancake batter and just pour it right onto the griddle.
The biggest problem for me is when I don't tighten the blade piece well enough and a little smoothie leaks out into the base. You can not submerge the base to clean and smoothie can get into the whole thing and drains out the bottom. I just rinse it well with some soap and water and let it dry for a few days before I use it again. Another problem I had was when I made cheese sauce and screwed the storage lid on too tight before I put it in the fridge. I had to get my husband to take it off for me.
Overall I love this little blender. So easy to use. All the parts except the base can go in the dishwasher. It can chop right through frozen berries and ice no problem.
