Save your time and money, this product is a piece of junk. I just got this for my wife for Christmas because she wanted something a little easier than the standard waiters corkscrew, so I got her this...it broke two days ago after opening about 5 bottles.
I'm one who will usually see a few bad reviews and think maybe someone just got a defective product but this really seems to be just poorly constructed in general. Spend the extra bucks and get a decent one that will last longer than a week.

Easy to use product. Can be displayed on counter with stand. Only negative is if you want to store it in a cabinet, drawer, the packaging in which it came is cheap and flimsy. I used one of these at a friend's house, and was amazed at the simplicity of use. At this price, it was worth it, even considering some of the questionable long term reliability concerns from previous reviewers. My use is moderate, maybe 2 bottles per week, and I'm following the lubrication recommendations of one reviewer.
My only suggestion to the manufacturer would be to make a modification to the stand to include some kind of snap-in device to hold that spare corkscrew underneath.

This item is priced well and the quality is top notch. I've purchased different wine openers from differnt brands, and this is the one that I keep on re-ordering for gifts because of the great value. I purchased a similar Pinzon opener for $2.00 less and the trade up to MIU is definitely worth it. The stainless steel finish and design is sturdy, where the the regular plastic ones feel too flimsy. This also comes with a stand which is a great added value. Given as a gift, this will surprise and delight as you can find similar quality items at department and specialty stores for $30-$50. This will impress any party guest as well as display great presentation.
