Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Luminarc Quadro 2-Liter Glass Pitcher with LidCustomer Review: Comparison with Two Other Pitchers Summary: 3 Stars
See my comparison of this pitcher and two others on the Bormioli Rocco Glass Storage Pitcher 2-L. page (Dec. 25, 2010).
Customer Review: Dangerous and disappointed. Summary: 1 Stars
Purchased this item a couple of months ago. Very happy at first, but ended up with sliver of glass in finger which chipped from the edge at the top. It was really just a sliver, barely noticeable (even difficult to take pictures of, but I got some). If it had not ended up in my finger, it would have ended up in my juice/stomach. Replacing with a safer plastic "pitcher". Disappointed.
Customer Review: Decent pitcher, but spout is an issue Summary: 4 Stars
This is a decent, reasonably made glass pitcher (really, it's glass). I've made teas in it using boiling or very hot water, depending on the tea, and it's been fine. I can't say I don't worry about putting hot water in it though! Quality is just not what it used to be these days across the board.
I only gave it 4 stars because, as other reviewers have mentioned, it has an awkward spout that can lead to dripping. It's not just a matter of being careful, you have to be extraordinarily precise to avoid a mess (i.e. hold the glass at a particular angle, tilt pitcher at an angle, hold glass to spout etc). Drippage does go down as the pitcher is less full. By around 3/4 full, it's not such a problem. Also, the problem is not related to the lid. I tried taking the lid off, but the problem persisted.
Customer Review: Drippy Summary: 1 Stars
I am so disappointed in this pitcher. It doesnt pour correctly. Everything drips out on the counter. It is now sitting on my counter waiting to become a liquid soap storage container since soap is thicker and hopefully wont spill all over my counter. At least I have found some use for it.
Customer Review: Easy to hold, but lids don't fit well Summary: 3 Stars
I bought two of these. The glass is lightweight. The thin design makes it easy to store in fridge. However, the lids don't fit well. Unless I hold the lid down very tightly on one of the pitchers, it leaks. With the other pitcher, even when I hold the lid down, it leaks. So I just remove the lids and they pour fine that way.
