I bought this with joyful anticipation. I got home, placed new batteries in the wedge, lowered the lights, and settled in bed expecting a nice evening reading. The first thing I noticed was that my light wasn't even. The lighting across my page was "wavy"; light and darker bands emanating from each bulb, much like the ripple from dropping a pebble in a pond. They weren't moving, but the alteration in light really made reading difficult. I don't know if this is a "bad" wedge, but other factors are going to keep me from replacing it with another one. The main factor is comfort. If you like to read laying down, you will find it difficult to hold the wedge in place over the page. You will also find it cumbersome to always position it over EVERY page. With a typical book light, you simply attach the light to the front or back of the book and never have to really deal with the light again. With this light, you have to make it part of your reading experience. Sure, it looks cool, but who am I trying to impress? I can't wait for the day they develop a flat, handheld monitor that is appealing and as easy on the eyes as paper. Then my continual search for a quality book light will end.Customer Review: I love my LightWedge!!

This is the single best thing for someone who likes to read in bed. I can be in the dark and read my book easily with the light wedge. It's even better in hotel rooms when the light switches aren't by the bed...... I'm going to share a room with a friend soon and I know I can read as long as I want to and not disturb her. And the wedge is powerful enough to light a room like you could with a flashlight... so I can use it to light the way to the bathroom in a strange hotel room. I've ordered several paperback sized ones for Christmas gifts, can't wait to see what my friends think of them.
One thing... I wish I had been more careful with my LightWedge when I got it..... the surface scratches easily and mine has lots of scratches now. I would have been more careful.... but the scratches don't detract from the usefulnes of the wedge. All in all this is a great product!!

After buying the Original LightWedge three years ago, a second one (my husband and I couldn't share) and most recently the LightWedge Paperback for my smaller books, I will never again go back to the other booklights I used before. Not only do the LightWedge products produce exactly the clean clear light they are said to produce, I love that the act of buying and changing bulbs so frequently is now a thing of the past. I highly recommend both of these products!
