Have had my LightWedge for a few years and find it incredibly useful for reading in bed without disturbing my husband. The light is bright & crisp and I almost never have to replace the batteries. However, I must pass along another great way to use the LightWedge I discovered after having my fourth child. When placed on top of my nightstand, it provided enough gentle ambient light for night wakings. I was able to nurse and change diapers all without fully waking my child or myself. I love to read in the quiet of night when the kids are in bed, but having a light on is a distraction to my husband and alerts the kids that I'm awake giving them the impression that they can come in and "chat" a few minutes longer (anything to avoid bedtime!). This is a great product for late night readers such as myself. I can read in bed and my husband doesn't even know it. It takes a little time getting used to because you have to pick it up and turn it with every page but it's well worth the small inconvenience. The lighting is so much better than other, more "traditional" book lights: it illuminates the entire page and there is no light glare. It's simply perfect!
Be sure to get the storage case and cleaner or dust and small surface scratches will quickly become a nuisance, though I use my eyeglass cleaner and cloth with the same good results. I LOVE this product!

The key to this product is SIZE. Unless you're willing to invest in both the small & large book lights, I would suggest you choose the right-sized light for your reading life style. If you frequently read hard-back books, you will want to get this larger sized book light.
I have tried to use the large book light on my paperback novels, but after a half-hour of reading, the muscles in my right thumb and palm would cramp because I had to balanced both the book and the light.
In regards to the smaller light - I had just as much trouble reading a hard-cover novel. It was extra work just to get through a page (I felt like the scanner on a copier machine - only able to see sections of the page at a time). It wasn't relaxing at all.
Once you have sized the light correctly, this really is a good buy. I have enjoyed my book lights immensely. It's not a perfect product (the glass scratches quite easily), but truly, I would be lost without them. I travel often, and read a lot at night. And in my experience, the book light is not distracting to those around me who are trying to sleep.
Not to mention, it doubles as a great book mark! For those of you like me who can't help but lose our bookmarks - you'll understand the benefit of this.

My husband and I each have our own lightwedge and we are both huge fans! The light is soft and soothing - in fact most nights even if we are both reading we turn the lights out and just use our lightwedges. It is a fantastic product!
