Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of LightWedge Original LED Book LightCustomer Review: A disappointment Summary: 1 Stars
I received my order today and I am going to return it right away. Here are my reasons:
- The product received does not have the one-touch 2 brightness levels control. It comes with a different style of sliding on/off switch.
- The acrylic screen contains scratch marks and smudges. Totally didn't expect from a brand new sealed package.
- The light does not cover the page evenly. One can almost see two rays of light across the page. The brightness is way too low for reading in the dark.
That is why I am returning it immediately.
Customer Review: A great product Summary: 4 Stars
I have had this for over 2 years with very few problems. Yes the surface has scratched (the reason for 4 out of 5 stars). However, it has been dropped by my young children and cleaning person more than a few times and is still working well - hardly a "disposable" item as described by an earlier reviewer. I am now ordering ones for my two eldest children to facilitate their reading without disturbing each other (and to stop them from borrowing mine!) All and all, a great product in my mind.
Customer Review: A really good choice Summary: 5 Stars
Having spent more money than I care to think about on various types of book lights that basically sucked, I was not really wanting to spend even more on yet another one that I might not like. I bought this one using gift certificates, and after using it, realized I would have been happy spending the real cash on it. Yes, it can get a little scratched if you're not careful and mine has a few but they really are not a problem. It's bright enough that instead of flipping it back and forth to each page, I simply flip the edge up a little to illuminate the page the light is not sitting on. This is the ONLY light I've had that does not bother my husband while he's trying to sleep and I still want to read, so it's been worth it just for that. I get alot of use out of a set of batteries but I don't read for hours with it every night. I think if you do use it like that, rechargeables would be the way to go. As it is, I have had mine for 3 and a half months and have not changed batteries yet. I use it several times a week for anywhere from a half hour to an hour at a time. Definitely get the case to keep it in.
Customer Review: AND I SAW A BRIGHT LIGHT! Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this product for my camping trip--as part of the fun of the trip is staying up to however late I want reading in bed. It worked great. I bought the full-sized version, but it worked fine with the paperbacks I took with me. Watch out for scratching though. I would highly recommend buying the cover and the lenscare kit.
Customer Review: Best Book Light I Ever Owned Summary: 4 Stars
This is the best book light I've ever owned, and has made reading in bed next to my husband a real possibility for the first time in our marriage. It's plenty bright, very convenient, and the batteries last a long time. It's also handy as a nightlight in a pinch.
I'm only giving it four stars though, because they need to make a few improvements. First, it's a bit heavy. When you're trying to balance a book, and this nightlight, it can occasionally feel like a juggle. Second, it scratches and smudges like crazy. I personally don't mind it--I can read through the scratches and smudges without issue, but eventually, I'll buy another one, or a cover for it.
