Customer Review: A great light for not waking a partner

I've used this light weekly for well over a year and I love it. I came to Amazon to get a second to keep at my cabin. I read with a bedside lamp until my husband is ready to go to sleep, then I use the light wedge. I like that it lights up the book only, and not the rest of the room, so I don't disturb my sleeping husband. My light has gotten some hair line scratches after regular use. I think it came with a bag to keep it in which may have helped instead of throwing it on the nightstand at night, or putting it in my purse for travel. Overall, I am more than satisfied with this light.Customer Review: Be mindful what color you buy

I use the LightWedge to read in bed and bought it so the light wouldn't disturb my husband. We both think it works great; however, be mindful of the translucent versus solid colored casing in terms of light escape.
The translucent lets the light escape through its clear casing and scatter throughout the room. So, if disturbing others around you is an issue then buy a solid colored casing.
Overall, the LightWedge is a must buy for anyone who likes to read before going to bed and while traveling. I have 2 more suggestions: 1) buy the case covering to protect it when not in use 2) buy a LightWedge with different light settings, if possible: a high and a low. For example, when I wake in the middle of the night and can't fall asleep, I get out my book to read. The problem is that my current LightWedge has only one light setting. This can be so bright, it almost hurts to read and how I mumble and curse myself for not being a more mindful consumer.

I've had mine for a couple years now.
Pros:
- excellent battery life - I use it every night and it's been months since I had to change the batteries.
- does a great job of lighting the page without sending light elsewhere.
- I find this design much more convenient than the clip on designs.
- quality construction - I use it extensively, have traveled with it, and even dropped it a few times and it still works great.

Yes, I gave the little one a bad review, and maybe I shouldn't have tried to read with it. But the big one works fine, its just that it scratches very easily right out of the box when you turn pages, so I would put a screen protector on it, not just buy the cover. Staples wanted $40 without the soft case so price is great, its just you have to pay shipping that is as much as the item price for the soft cover.Customer Review: Complete disappointment

If the photos of how this product lights a page were only HALF accurate, it would have been a good purchase. Lightwedge is worse than nothing. The puny light makes arcs around the insufficient TWO LEDs that are its source, the middle of the page is dark and distorted, and only the far edge projects any brightness at all. You can see more with a good LED flashlight!
