A handmade meditation timer: 3 chimes of the gong signal the beginning and the end of your meditation period. This timer -- unique to Laughing Buddha Trading -- is engraved with the Chinese character "Shou," meaning longevity. With this timer you can forget about keeping track of the time and can completely relax during your meditation sessions. Set the timer to the desired duration of your sitting, then press the ON button. Twenty seconds later, the chime of the gong will accompany the beginning of your meditation, creating a perfectly appropriate atmosphere for your practice. Later, three more chimes preceded by several softer and faster ones - will gently signal the end of your session. The chimes are high quality digital recordings of a genuine Tibetan gong. There are eight possible settings: every 5 minutes up to 30, then 45 and 60 minutes. The Meditation Timer can also be used to indicate the beginning and the end of a session for various therapies where peace and serenity are appropriate The Meditation Timer comes in beautiful polished maple wood, and is made by craftsmen in France.
