Customer Review: Prefer it over the Excalibur

I use it for Raw Foods dishes. I do think everyone in the Raw Foods Community is a little brainwashed by Excalibur. I don't work for L'Equipe. I just like this better.
Advantages
1) quieter
2) heat only the trays you are using
3) less expensive
4) looks better too, on your counter, etc.
Disadvantages
1) some people might consider it a disadvantage that there is a hole in the middle of the tray. This could limit making a single size large Raw Foods pizza, instead of several smaller ones. That's the only disadvantage I can think of.
I bought it hoping it would be quieter, and because all Excalibur's price controlling was irking me. I am happy with it :)

There are many advantages to creating your own home-dried foods. Home prepared snacks have no preservatives-you have more control about what you eat. Dried snacks are perfect for travel and have more flavor as it becomes concentrated. Buying foods in season also help you save money. With many choices on the market, the L'Equip Dehydrator offers many features only found in more expensive models: With over 24 square feet of drying space, you can stack up to 20 trays. It dries food uniformly and consistently with its solid state variable temperature control-you're assured precise results. The L'Equip Dehydrator features a micro-processor controlled heat sensor for stable drying environment. Its unique and timeless design is easy to clean and use, making it a welcomed addition to any kitchen.Using a computer-controlled sensor to check the temperature 60 times per second, this dehydrator creates a stable drying environment for food, flowers, and herbs. It generates 550 watts of power and comes with six stacking trays--a total of 12 square feet of drying space. The dehydrator's thermostat adjusts from 93 degrees F up to 150 degrees, offering the flexibility needed to dry meat, seafood, poultry, fruits, vegetables, jerky, granola, and even potpourri and sachet (great for gifts). Instructions and drying times for all these items and recipes employing dried foods are contained in a booklet accompanying the dehydrator. The device is made of plastic and measures 10-1/2 inches high when all six of the 17-by-11-inch trays are stacked and the cover is in place. Trays need to be hand washed and the base wiped clean.
