Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Keurig My K-Cup Reusable Coffee FilterCustomer Review: A good deal when sold by Amazon-Overpriced with other sellers Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this through Amazon and paid 11.95 with free shipping. I see now that other sellers are offering this same item at a highly inflated price : as much as 23.95 plus shipping. What a ripoff!
As for the K-cup I think this is a very handy thing to have. It doesn't work so well however with loose tea. I had to submerge the filter in the cup after the water went through because the tea was so weak it was like drinking hot water. I'll stick to the old teapot in the future. But for the most part I like this item to make my single cup of coffee.
Customer Review: A great addition to your Keurig Summary: 5 Stars
I have not had the problems others have mentioned...no splashing & no weak coffee. I grind my own coffee, a little on the fine side, fill to the top, then tap it down to just below the top white rim. This makes a fairly strong coffee with no grounds in my cup. It's easy to dump the grinds when the coffee's done & rinse the cup.
Customer Review: A little more complicated than I'd like... Summary: 3 Stars
While this does what it's designed to do very well, it is disappointing that I have to remove the lower assembly from my keurig every time I want to use the filter. There HAS to be better design possibilities that could just fit into the original machine parts! Also, whatever you do, NEVER forget to put the lid on this thing when you brew! It will leave you with a mess inside and out, all over the machine, and no matter how well you think you've cleaned it, you'll find an annoying stray rebel ground in your coffee here and there for the rest of eternity... or until you buy a new machine.(I was tired, it was early, and I hadn't had my coffee yet... and I'm an idiot at times)
Customer Review: A little more work, but worth it. Summary: 4 Stars
I bought my Keurig without understanding how expensive the k-cups would be. So I found this reusable filter. It is a little flimsy feeling, the foil and plastic shell seems like it should be handled lightly. If you fill it all the way to the top, with a fairly fine grind, the resulting cup of coffee will be comparable to a pre-packaged k-cup. I like not having to buy paper filters, as with a drip machine. I tap out the grinds and save them for fertilizer in the garden. Then rinse the filter out, and it's ready for the next cup.
Bottom line: If you are short on cash, it's well worth the purchase. If you are trying to cut down on the huge amount of waste normal k-cups produce, it's worth the purchase.
Customer Review: A must have Summary: 5 Stars
If you've bought a K-Cup machine, but have your favorite coffee still in the cupboard, then you NEED one of these. Its a shame it doesn't come with the machine. Need to get the knack of getting the original holder out of the coffee maker, but this units slides right into place.
May want to play with the portions, depending on the type of coffee, and the size of your cup/mug
