Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Kershaw Taskmaster ShearsCustomer Review: Great Shears Summary: 5 Stars
I bought these shears specifically for cutting chicken bones and they work great; much better than my Cutco shears. The notch in the blade really makes the chore much easier.
Customer Review: Great quality descent ergonomics Summary: 4 Stars
Great construction. Very sharp blade which is sturdily mounted into a plastic handle. Only complaint: In my big hands these scissors feel a little awkward. However my wife's hand fits fine.
Customer Review: Great sears - a less expensive than the Shun version Summary: 5 Stars
I do not have Shun knives, but after researching shears in person at William Sonoma, these seemed the best built and most comfortable. Also, like the fact they come apart for cleaning unlike my previous Henkel ones. A slight worry was if they would accidentally come apart when opening the sears wide, but this seems impossible. Following the advice here on Amazon I purchased the Kershaw branded sears instead of Shun (exact same product), and saved myself a few dollars.
Customer Review: Great shears Summary: 5 Stars
These shears just feel nice in your hand when you open and close them. You can snip herbs as easily as you will whole chickens or plastic food packaging. The best part is how easy they come apart (when you want them to) for cleaning and then go back together quickly with no screws or pieces to misplace. These are the shears that Alton Brown singled out in one his Good Eats episodes. My original pair came from Williams & Sonoma (12/06) and included a plastic sheath with a magnet for $39.95. The second pair I purchased through Amazon for a gift came without the sheath but since I have had no use for mine I think the trade-off in regards to price was well worth it.
Customer Review: Great shears with long life Summary: 5 Stars
Take good care of these kitchen shears and they will last a lifetime. Sharp, sharp, sharp, and sturdy. We've only put them to use a few weeks so it remains to be seen if the plastic handle will crack in the same way as other kitchen shears. There is no doubt when taking these out of the packaging that they are made to last longer than the standard cheap shears that are easy to find at half the price or less. I expect these to prove their worth. I really like that they come apart for cleaning and how easy it is to take them apart and yet they don't come apart easily unintentionally.
