Customer Review: Not long enough, but otherwise works

I have had the older ones without the silicon grip for over a year now. I do like the fingers on them, because you can actually grip things as opposed to oven mitts where you really can't. That is a big plus. Next pair will be the ones with the silicon grips, because the older ones are sometimes slippery.
Yes, you do have to put things down fairly quickly. No holding hot pans for much over 10 or 15 seconds, that's for sure.
Also, they were just too short for me. I kept burning the inside of my forearm just above where the gloves hit when turning loaves of bread out of the baking pans when they were hot, then hit on the idea of extending them using my sewing machine.
I took dish towels - the terrycloth ones used to dry dishes - folded them lengthwise to have a double thickness, trimmed them to fit around my arm and match the size of the wrist part on the gloves, and sewed them onto the gloves, sealing all edges securely. Now, they come all the way up to my elbows! No more burning my arms! I would put a picture in here if I knew how to do it.
For the next version of these gloves, I suggest the manufacturer make them longer like I did, or at least have a version like that. In the meantime, those of you with sewing abilities can do what I did. You will be glad you did! I am.
