I purchased several sets of flannel sheets from various different places, most of them did not begin to pill untill this year. I really hate rough sheets and tried the battery operated defuzzers on the sheets, it helped some but still not soft. So I saw the review on the sweater stone and thought I had nothing to lose by trying it. It arrived promptly and I immediately tried it out. It works. You do need to do several swipes over the sheets to remove all the pills, the results are soft cozy sheets again. The only thing is I wish it were more the size of a board eraser as you could cover more area when you use it. It does slip out of my hands and I scrape my finger pads on it, but it is worth it. To remove the pills I put the bottom sheet on and depill it and then I use a lint brush to remove the access fuzz after I determine that it is soft enough I put the top sheet on and depill it. I don't know if the sheets will pill up when I wash them as I haven't done that yet.Customer Review: Hard on sweater

My husband put this on his account, but it was used by me (his wife). Just in case you are wondering. This stone seemed too abrasive for my cashmere sweater. It was nicely packaged and nice in every way other than that my sweater looked worse after I used it. Use with care. (I did use with care, but I wanted to see if I could get rid of the pills, and this did not help.) Wish I didn't have to be negative. I could not believe the difference in my sweaters after I used the sweater stone. I usually wash my sweaters instead of dry cleaning so they had a lot of pills on them. The sweater stone takes them all off and they look great.Customer Review: I like it!

Overall, it works well after you get used to it. I would test it on an old sweater before trying it on something you love. The results depend on your technique and how firmly you press down. You can really get a old sweater or hoodie to look like new again. It does leave some shiny dust behind on certain items and occasionally has a strange smell if you are really working it. It works much better than those battery powered shavers (that always have dead batteries when you really need it) Worth buying!
