This knife sharpener is an excellent product to use, if you use it correctly. I "HAD" several old knives that were as dull as dull could be from decades of use. Most required five pulls through #1, and four to fives pulls through #2. Yet when they came out of the sharpener, they are as sharp as I had hoped. Also it literally only took seconds to sharpen each knife. I insert the blade into the sharpener as vertical as I can, and pull the blade through slowly, I get the best results. This seems to resolve all the problems others have reported, at least for me. Are the knives factory sharp? By no means are they. Yet the knives are sharp enough to do what they were designed to do, CUT safely. This is a great product and I would recommend it to anyone who would use it correctly.Customer Review: Excellent product

I bought a couple of Henckels knives about a year ago. They work great, but by now had gotten a little dull and I needed a sharpener. I read many of the good reviews about this sharpener, so I went ahead with the purchase with confidence and expectation. I used it yesterday for the first time, sharpening the 2 Henckels as well as my old set of kitchen knives. I noticed that I do need to put a bit of pressure on it as I draw the edge over the slots. Otherwise it is pretty straight forward and easy to operate. All of my knives are now sharp and I am happy with the result. Will recommend this.Customer Review: Fast and Easy

Small and compact. Just leave on the counter and right before you start to prepare food, give the knife a couple quick pulls on the fine wedge and it is just amazing how sharp, so fast. The sound and feel is a little "scratchy", but the result is perfect. I am using mostly pro Henckels knives to begin with, but I have had no problem bringing some old cheaper knives back to a perfect edge with this sharpener. I gave up my trusty old crock sticks.
