I chose this knife after reviewing dozens of bread knives and finally took a chance because of the great price. I was not disappointed. It slices velvety cake or airy artisanal breads without crushing. My only advice is that if too much crumb sticks to the blade, then the bread is too hot to cut. But, hey, who doesn't want bread hot from the oven?Customer Review: My favorite knife!

I ordered this knife when I had a gift certificate and wasn't looking for a book, but needed a bread knife. Now I purchase it as a gift! It cuts like a dream through bread, tomatoes, sandwiches, without grabbing or tearing! A must-have for any kitchen, even if you don't cook!Customer Review: Needs elbow grease

Henkels makes great knives in their top end lines -4+5 stars, however they are not razor sharp out of the box and if they are they will not be for long.They simply need to be sharpened at least 3 times more often than Wustof-Trident or Global. If you are good at sharpening this is a great knive.Customer Review: Not usable

When I received this knife, it had two visible nicks in the cutting edge, one with a very nasty burr. Now, unfortunately, I have to return it. I should have known the price was too good to be true!
