Customer Review: Gets the job done!

Brand name is not an issue when it comes to bread knives. It's harder to get a bread knife sharpened because of its serrated blade, so it's basically just a tool which you use it until it gets dull and then toss it away.
This knife works equally as well as a Wusthof one, for a fraction of the price. The weight of the knife is heavy enough to slice through a loaf of baguette easily without having to put in extra wrist power. The serrated blades are sharp enough so that it leaves no crumbs, and the length of the knife is perfect to cut both long loaves and short ones.

A crusty loaf yields easily to this knife, whose serrations are big enough to rate--in knife-speak--as "scallops." Henckels' International Fine Edge is an inexpensive cutlery line made in countries other than the company's home of Germany. These knives don't have bolsters and their blades are thinner and less strong.
