Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Indus Classic, Himalayan Crystal Rock Salt Lamp 6-8 PoundsCustomer Review: Weird But Neat Summary: 5 Stars
Well I'd say this is definitely one of the oddest things I own now. Neat in appearance the rock itself has a milky pink color to it. Add the electric bulb inside (a decent sized one in mine but apparently random according to the other reviews) and that milky pink turns into a shadowy red. Very unique lighting as 2-3 of these lights a room well enough for activity but dark enough for that special privacy *wink*.
Only issue I had is that the "beautiful" wooden bottom (bottom rung wood poorly screwed to the bottom of the rock itself) which was not exactly easy to detach from the rock. When I took it out of the box the bulb was loose inside of the hollow of the rock and could have shattered during it's journey. Besides this excellent timely delivery, perfect product... what else do you need right?

Customer Review: beautiful and energizing Summary: 4 Stars
i have one at my desk at work and one by my bed at home. they offer wonderful ambient lighting, great mood decor, but the best part is is the atmospheric ionization! at this time my only regret is that i diddnt get a size or two bigger.
Customer Review: create a relaxing atmosphere Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased this item as a gift for my girlfriend to help her ease into sleep at night. The lamp is truly unique and glows a beautiful, deep orange. The base is made of solid wood, and the unit has a significant weight to it (6 - 8 lbs). Regardless of the ability of this lamp to emit "positive ions", I am convinced that the lamp can, in the very least, offer a relaxing atmosphere. My girlfriend can confirm that this item is a wonderful addition to her bedroom.
Customer Review: feng shui location? Summary: 5 Stars
I've been looking all over the net for the placement of these salt lamps. As you know, each sector of a house represents some aspect of your life. And placement of certain objects within the house can either improve or make worse your life depending on where you place objects. But what I've gotten from the net has been somewhat mixed.
One one hand, I know that pink and orange (the color of these lamps) is represented by fire, and hence should be good in either the NE, SW, and possibly the S or center sectors. But on the other hand, salt is also used as a cleansing agent in feng shui to clear out negative chi supposedly. There is even one article claiming that salt lamps sending out bad chi. Who knows?
I'm thinking that salt is its own element all together. It is probably not a good thing to place in your east or SE sectors as salt dries up wood, and probably not a good thing to put in your N sector as it would soak up a lot of water. But if you have a lot of negative yang chi in the NE sector, or maybe SW sector, then maybe these lamps might be good. I frankly don't know. Anyone know or they just guessing like me?
