Customer Review: Love the concept, but motor is too weak

I've now owned four of these. Each has had the motor die. One after a single day. The longest was six months. The system is a good one. The bottle works well and is a good size. But, the motor simply can't handle regular use.
You can limp it along by putting fewer frozen pieces in -- say under half the bottle -- or by only mixing for a few seconds, before walking away and letting it rest. But, in all, you shouldn't have to baby it quite so much.
I'll probably try another type next to see if it works better.

I was given this as a gift for Christmas '07, and I loved it. I used it almost everyday for an east breakfast meal. There was never any problems with anything I added to blend. Ice was chopped up nice and smooth. It lasted a little over a year and I am buying a replacement!Customer Review: Makes my protein shakes a lot easier

I admit. I was leary about this product, which I received as a gift. After letting it sit in my cabinet for a month, it is now become the product I cannot live without. I drink protein shakes at least once a day and this is a FANTASTIC way to blend the protein with liquid and a banana. Love it. I've also used it for regular smoothies without complaint. I highly recommend it. I have had absolutely no problem with it blending ice or any frozen fruit and I have been using it for about 2 mos now on a daily basis. I purchased the Shake 'n Take personal blender about 3 weeks ago locally (Meijer). I use it twice a day to blend up a mixture of juice, frozen and fresh fruits, and protein for pre- and post-workout nourishment. I love it. I haven't had any problems blending anything I've thrown in. The motor and blades seem very capable. It's the perfect size. It's quick, it's easy, and was well priced. The only negative is the bottle can't take hot liquids...like dishwasher temperatures. This is a minor issue as it is easy enough just to hand wash when necessary.
