I recently purchased a gas range and the burners cook too hot, who knew how hot 15000 blah, blah, blahs was going to be??? There is no internal adjusting ability in which to reduce the flame and things kept burning. The SimmerMat gives me some help now in my heat control and I don't hate my stove nearly as much.
