Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Honeywell QuietCare Cool-Moisture Humidifier, 3-Gallon, HCM-630

Customer Review: Poor Dehumidifier
Summary: 1 Stars

I purchased this unit, then found the humidity control is not accurate. Returned the humidifier to Amazon, at the advise of the manufacturer. They sent me
a replacement only to find it had the same problem. The box for that one was thrown out by mistake, so I can not return it. I am not happy at all. I own three other humidifiers, by a different manufacturer which I have had no problems with.

Customer Review: Pretty Good Product
Summary: 3 Stars

It is really great at putting moisture in the air. However, I would not recommend it for wintertime use as it outputs extremely cold air, and lowers the temperature of its surroundings. Also as other people have expressed it turns dirty and stinky rather fast and I was dismayed to have to buy a new filter a couple of weeks after I bought it. It could just be my water, but I find it requires cleaning very often and purchasing of new filters often.

Customer Review: Quiet Care Humidifier
Summary: 4 Stars

The humidifier does run quietly. It comes apart easily for cleaning - three pieces to be exact. The only drawback with this humidifier is the humidistat. It's mounted above the motor that gets warm after running for a while. After turning off, the warmth of the motor prematurely turns the humidifier back on making the room more humid. They should have isolated the humidistat from the motor and have it ventilated to the outside. I have a Slant/Fin GF-300 warm mist humidifier that has the same problem (till I removed the humidistat entirely from the case). Now it's working far more accurately with the humidistat installed in it's own ventilate box, wired up with a male plug (plugged into an outlet) and a female outlet to plug in the warm mist humidifier into. Will have to purchase a separate humidistat & have this Honeywell HCM-630 plugged into it for more precise humidity control. Otherwise it runs very well and quietly. I only use the lower speed as it's more quiet and uses less energy.

Customer Review: Quiet but inaccurate
Summary: 3 Stars

This humidifier has one great feature: it is very quiet.

Pros: Quiet

Cons: Very hard to hold the water tank when filling, shape is really awkward and imbalanced in this position (upside-down). The humidistat is completely inaccurate, I have a highly accurate certified hygrometer and this humidistat cannot tell the difference between 45 and 72% humidity (a huge difference in how a room feels. Basically, you get it started by adjusting the dial: it never stops! I don't know if it would keep running when the humidity is well over 70% because I've never let it go that far (feels like a swamp). If you live in a dry area as I do, and you know you want it on most of the time, its not too bad.

Customer Review: Quiet but need to refill the tank quite often
Summary: 3 Stars

This humidifier works well. It's very quiet but we need to refill the tank at least once or twice a day and the filter needs to be changed almost every month (and it's $12).
