Customer Review: Not too shabby!
Summary: 4 Stars
I like this air purifier, although I've never bought one before. Shipping was pretty slow, and the delivery guy didn't even knock, he just left it in the rain, but it didn't seem much worse for the wear. I've had it for about a month now, and I keep it on 24/7, usually on high (I can't hear it over my AC, anyway), but I've tried all 3 settings. Here's what I think:
Pros:
Yes, it is QUIET, the high setting is maybe 40-50dB, like the humming of an old fridge.
It works great on SMOKE and SMELLS - I smoke "herbal" cigarettes in my 300sqft apartment and they smell a lot! Not only does this suck the smoke out of the air (pretty cool!), but it really helps with the smell that usually lingers for hours after smoking.
It works on PET DANDER - yah! my apartment no longer smells like an 80 lb greyhound who rolled in god-knows-what!
Cons:
DUST? One of the other reviewers said that this helped reduce the amount of dust in their apartment, and I was so excited, because my apartment gets ridiculously dusty every 3 days or so. So I set up the purifier, let it run for a day, then I dusted, and waited. No dice, I had serious dust again in like 3.5 days, too bad :(
Although you just vacuum the HEPA filter, YOU STILL HAVE TO BUY A REPLACEMENT PRE-FILTER.
