Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of TravelRest - The Travel Pillow Reinvented - Blue

Customer Review: Awesome travel pillow!
Summary: 4 Stars

This travel pillow is fantastic! I bought mine two years ago and it's much better than any of the other pillows out there--it's the only one I can actually get to sleep with. I would have given it 5 stars, but the only drawbacks are 1) awkwardly asking the person behind you if you can put the strap over the back of the chair (and letting them know it won't interfere with their tray), and 2) occasionally the clasp for the drawstring strap doesn't hold tightly and some string slips through, thus making it too loose on the chair so it slides down. However, even despite these drawbacks, it's still the best pillow out there and totally worth dealing with those two issues. I highly recommend it!! Their customer service is also the best!

Customer Review: BUY IT! it's far superior to all other options for airplane travel
Summary: 5 Stars

The product:

it takes about four easy breathes to inflate, just push in the valve and it is airtight and ready. rap the rope around the top of your seat and press the black plastic and pull on other side of rope and it will tighten around the seat and stay on your side. you can leave it there during your entire flight.

my story:

i went to Europe twice in q4 of 2009. the first time without this product and i had a terrible flight. couldn't sleep (even with alcohol). in fact, my long trip from west coast U.S. to Geneva, Switzerland had me awake for 24 hours; LITERALLY. so, i did some research for my second cross Atlantic trip and found this product. my second trip i had the travel rest pillow; and my flight experience was significantly improved. this product doesn't interfere with your seat neighbor and yet you can leave it there the entire flight. it is so comfortable and it is literally brilliant perfection that should be in the arsenal of every cross Atlantic, cross pacific, or cross country airplane passenger; even if for only one trip.

tip: get this pillow on the seat immediately when you get to your seat. make sure it is positioned on the side you want it. when you are ready to use it, i found that hugging the product was more comfortable for me.

Customer Review: Became my best friend on extended travel
Summary: 5 Stars

I absolutely loved this pillow. I had to travel extensively over - 6 weeks to different countries. I needed something easy to pack and tremendously comfortable. This pillow fit the bill! I could pack it in my purse and blow it up easily. There are several different ways that you can wear the pillow and I would suggest trying it out because it took me a bit to get situated with it each time on the plane but once you get the hang of it you will LOVE IT. Much more comfortable than the traditional "stick it on your neck" pillows, you feel comforted and cozy. Not only was the pillow perfect for the plane but travel in car on bus.

Additionally and this is VERY important - they have exceptional customer service. In a time when service is constantly declining it is refreshing to find a company that actual acts as if they want customers. They are a small company and it is important to support developing companies if they have a good product and they do!

Customer Review: Best for comfort and size
Summary: 5 Stars

I have tried many travel pillows and this is by far the best (I've used it on buses and planes so far)

The pros -
* it folds up to a small size (a huge plus when traveling on a plane)
* easy to inflate and deflate
* very comfortable - it really does let you sleep without that horrible head jerking I suffered with the U shaped pillows
* works well for both me (5'4") and my husband (5'10")

The cons -
* a very minor complaint is that the material attracts lint, so I have to use a clothes brush on it quite a lot (but it does mean that my head doesn't slide off the pillow, which it would do if a silky material were used, so I don't really mind).

And the customer service from Travelrest is great. I bought two pillows, and after a while one wasn't working properly. They sent me a replacement quickly and without fuss, and were very friendly.

Customer Review: Best pillow I've found, not perfect, but really nice
Summary: 4 Stars

This pillow is definitely superior to the foam or buckwheat neck pillows, at least for me, in that it feels like a "real" pillow. At least the best you're going to get on a plane. It folds down so small that I had to look around the house for it once until I discovered it was buried in the bottom of my laptop bag - so space is not an issue. I wear this messenger-bag style, I have no interest in strapping it to my seat.

All that said, it is comfortable, but it is not perfect. I actually wouldn't mind if it was 50% larger, to support my head more. But it is certainly the most comfortable thing I have tried to date, and probably the closest I'm ever going to get to a decent rest on a redeye flight.
