I don't think the dimensions are correct, or else I got the wrong ones. Mine measure 3.25x4.5, not 5x7. Anyway, I haven't had a chance to use them, not sure what to use them for now...
Updated 3-22-09: I found the perfect use for these! I had a half gallon of heavy whipping cream, for various dishes. I had about half of that left and didn't want it to go to waste. So I measured 1 cup into each container and put it in the freezer to save for a later date. They have held up very well in the freezer, and stack nicely.

I LOVE Lock n Locks. I have probably 100 seperate pieces in my home - round ones, square ones, pantry bins (best invention ever!).
I love these too, but I wanted to make you aware of what size they are (because if you are like me, just saying 1.4 cups doesn't mean anything!). These are about the size of a double-pack of Twinkies. You could put in maybe 10 Chips Ahoy cookies in them, but not a sandwich or other large items.

I was definitely not expecting it to be this small hahaha. That was my own fault though for not accurately making a measurement model of the size. But you cannot beat the AMAZING QUALITY of Lock&Lock. I have several other containers from Lock and Lock and I love ALL of them. Great quality. It's a blessing and a curse that you cannot smell anything that you put in those containers, regardless of the amount of time hahaha. Microwaved and it was fine. Never had to dishwash, so I can't comment on that. Kind of difficult to handwash if there's oil - I usually soak the container in dishwater detergent and water and swish it around with the top on.Customer Review: The BEST food storage containers

I have a cupboard of tupperware, plastic food containers, ziploc things... you name it and I have it. And none of them compare to this. These are perfect for my son's lunch at school! I was sick of him coming home with his leftover fruit in the bottom of his lunch bag rather than in the container, but with this, it doesn't happen. The locking system is easy for him to undo and put back together and so far, NOTHING has fallen out! I was pretty amazed at how tightly it does lock, and believe me, I've already ordered more of the larger ones for home use, as these are pretty small. They are perfect for leftover corn or carrots or whatnot but otherwise, they are more geared to taking them in your lunch. I love them!Customer Review: The Best

These are the perfect size for snacks. The tabs are sturdy and always keeps the boxes closed no matter how badly I treat them. I don't go a day without using them and they are still as clean and sturdy as the day I got them.
