I'm writing this review primarily because there are no other reviews. Interestingly, this is the same exact spoon as the one sold by BettyCrocker. Both are French Beechwood Mixing spoons, and have the same shape, size, and price.
If you have a choice between buying the 10-inch or the 12-inch, buy the 12-inch model. I have both and am constantly banging my knuckles with the smaller 10-inch spoon.
This is also a well-made spoon that feels much sturdier than the cheaper and economical "pack-of-five" wooden spoons that you can buy at Target or Walmart for $1.99.
The primary purpose I bought this spoon was because my platic nonstick spatula (i.e., Calphalon N04 Large Nylon Slotted Spatula - rated #1 by Cook's Illustrated) kept flaking bits of black "seasoning" in my ground beef. Other spatula's have deteriorated similarly in less than a year. After I use my wooden spoon to cook ground beef, I just toss it onto the top-rack of my dishwasher (NOT recommended by the manufacturer). So far I have not noticed any cracks or have needed to replace my wooden spoon, even after about 50 times in the dishwasher.
For me, I would rather buy a few of these high-quality wooden spoons every year than eat black plastic.
