We have tried every brand and style of these available on the market. These are by far the best. As others have said, they stay flat, their edges are more sturdy and the "moisture" doesn't go through. The best available at any retail store is nowhere near as good as these.
With four dachshunds who cannot be made to go out in the rain (or wind, or cold, or . . . - those with doxies understand) no matter what the incentive, we use wee wee pads regularly. These seem to hold more than the others we've tried. Unless it's a very small puppy, the output is more than the other pads can handle. When the pad is wet, the backing doesn't separate from the padding and the wetness is less likely to seep over the edges. They are also sturdier - nails, even the cat's, don't shred them into bits. I recommend these over any other brand or style.
