Customer Review: Absolutely beautiful! Would have paid twice as much!

I bought this whiskey decanter as a Christmas present for my boyfriend. We aren't fancy people but he loves whiskey and I thought a nice crystal decanter would add a little class to the small bar we have. I settled on this one because of the low price, crystal (or maybe it's glass) stopper (instead of a plastic one), and matching glasses. I figured if he really likes it, I can always buy a nicer one later.
There will be no need for that! This set is beautiful! Unlike some of the other reviewers, the silver tray I received was perfect - no dents, scratches, or smudges - and I don't think it looks cheap at all.
The decanter and glasses are stunning. The pictures really don't do them justice. The designs are beautiful, they're heavy and sturdy feeling (though we probably won't be letting the cats play in that room anymore since they like to knock things over), the stopper fits perfectly on the decanter... everything is just great. I'm really, really impressed.
If you're looking for a nice gift but don't have a ton of money to spend, I highly recommend this set. It might not be the best decanter set available but for a regular Joe who loves a good glass of whiskey, I think this is perfect.

The Godinger 6 pc. Whiskey Set is a welcome addition to any home bar. This beautiful lead cystal , in the famous Dublin pattern, is a classy and elegent way to serve your favorite bourbon or scotch.Godinger's Shannon Collection of crystal looks at home in both traditional and contemporary settings. The 24-percent lead crystal is cut with a classic Irish diamond and wedge patterning that sparkles luxuriously. The Dublin whiskey set features four crystal 3-1/2-by-3-1/4-inch double old-fashioned glasses, and a 10-3/4-inch square crystal decanter with a starburst-cut ball stopper. Holding everything together with room enough for an ice bucket is an expansive 18-3/4-by-14-1/4-inch tray with rounded corners, silver-plated and polished to a mirror shine.
Like all fine crystal and silver-plate, the items in this set should be washed by hand in warm soapy water, then carefully dried with a soft cloth to prevent spotting.
