Customer Review: works, but not perfectly
Summary: 4 Stars
I live in a hot climate and turn the A/C off when I'm away during the day. While the butter is usually intact, a couple of times I have discovered that a chunk of butter has dropped into the water like Arctic ice. This butter keeper is definitly better than a simple, lidded pyrex bowl, but I agree with the reviewer who says stoneware functions better. There are a few things you can do to improve the performance of this product:
1. thoroughly wash the dish before adding a new stick of butter
2. mash the butter to make it concave
3. fill the base jar with as much water as it will hold when the bell is in place
4. change the water every 2-3 days
