I bought these knives a few weeks ago so that I would have a nice knife set when I move into my new apartment next month. These knives are in storage right now, but they seemed incredibly sharp when I opened them upon arrival. They are attractive knives and seem like they will stand the test of time. I am a college student and on a tight budget, and I priced knife sets at numerous places before I bought these. The Ginsus were a great buy for the price. Most retail stores charge $40+ for their cheapest sets, and these are far superior in quality than all of the cheaper sets I looked at. I was doing some major research for knife sets and didn't want to pay an arm and leg for a knife set but also wanted good quality knives. When I read the reviews for the product and heard nothing but good stuff about the Ginsu knives I just had to buy these. I been using these knives for almost 2 years now and wash them regularly in the dishwasher and have not seen any rust or lost the sharpness of the blades. We purchased two other sets of knives from the TV shopping channels and had to return them as they wouldn't cut through soft butter. We have had these since August and love them.
