it is made in china and the stereotype holds. this rack 'bolts' together with screws and nuts that are welded onto the steel rack. on the unit i received, the nut was deformed in the welding process and the bolt wouldn't thread into it. what should be a 2 minute assembly turned into an hour project to rig the thing together and i wound up using wire to hold it all together. i guess it still functions and my frustrations are probably more political, but it's cheap for a reason.
