Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Fusionbrands 3-Inch Silicone Poach Pod Egg Poaching Tool, GreenCustomer Review: The poachpod Rocks!! Summary: 4 Stars
For people who cannot poach an egg, this is the product for you. As long as you follow the directions, it is fool proof! Bring your water to a boil, no need to add vinegar since your are not diretly putting the egg in the water. The poachpod simply works like a double-boiler would. Anyways, coat the pod with oil (or butter) as said in the simple directions. Crack the egg in the pod and then set in the boiling water. Make sure it is not a rolling boil, just above simmering. Use your lid and cover the eggs and in 3-4min you will have some pretty nice poached eggs. Next use a spoon or something with flex to pop the egg out. With practice your eggs will come out perfect. This product works if you read the directions
Customer Review: There is no problem with "plastic taste" Summary: 5 Stars
as previous reviewer had noted. Easily solved thru the miracle of soap and water. Obviously, you wash any new utensil to remove manufacturing gunk.
Customer Review: These are kind of adorable. Summary: 5 Stars
Well you need a deep (at least a few inches) pan and a lid for it and a little bit of oil or shortening for the 'pod'.
I don't know anything about poaching eggs so it was an experiment for me and my 13 year old.
It does pop out a perfect shaped little egg, with either a soft or medium or firm yolk depending on how long you cook it.
It is a little difficult to know exactly how long to cook it to vary that yolk, but I guess practice tells.
It does seem pretty easy to clean. It was easy to put in the water and take out. It was easy to get the eggs out.
I can't think of much more to say about it. It does what it says it does as far as I'm concerned and looks cute doing it.
The package is one middling-green and one light-green (not the two dark shown in some of the pictures here).
Customer Review: They really work! Summary: 5 Stars
I was skeptical about this product, but we do love our poached eggs, and they weren't that expensive, so I decided to give them a try. Well, I was pleasantly surprised! They are easy to use, just follow the directions, and voila, perfect poached eggs. I use Pam instead of the oil they recommend, so it doesn't add to the calories, and you do not get an oily taste. I highly recommend!!
Customer Review: They work ! Summary: 5 Stars
I love poached eggs and when I saw these things I had to try them. I bought them from Amazon and the service, as usual, was fine. They do indeed work. I like my yolks runny and the whites firm, no problem. I use a 3 Qt saucepan with a lid and medium heat for five minutes. What the other reviewers said about oiling the cups is correct. Cooked egg white will stick to anything. But, even more effective than oiling, is a light spritz of PAM. The eggs will literally slide out.
