Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Fusionbrands 3-Inch Silicone Poach Pod Egg Poaching Tool, Green

Customer Review: If I could give the poach pods 6 stars...
Summary: 5 Stars

I would!! I love this product. The first time I used it, I had perfectly poached eggs. I simply sprayed the inside of each pod with a very quick blast of Pam, put them into a saucepan with about 2" of simmering water and waited 6 minutes. I removed the pods with a slotted spoon and turned them upside down over my toast. Eggs slid right out! I do not taste ANY kind of plastic-y, rubbery taste on my eggs as other reviewers have noted. Absolutely nothing but the taste of the eggs.
I had thought my days of poached eggs were over. My mom had a large 6-egg aluminum poacher when I was a kid, and my favorite dinner was poached eggs on toast. I don't have room for that poacher and I didn't want a big pan to clean. I think the method of cracking an egg directly in water is, well, not for me. I don't want water-logged eggs. I am very happy with this purchase.

Customer Review: If you buy these...I have a bridge for you!
Summary: 1 Stars

This is the worst product I have ever used, and reflects the lack of ethics of the distributor on various levels. When I finally saw this product, I was SHOCKED by the amount of time I waited to receive it, AND the ridiculous handling charges. These are two thin litle "skins" and using a standard stationery envelope is actually too big for them. When an egg is cracked into them, for heaven's sake, don't let a draft hit them, or they tip over, and the whole egg goes on the counter and is wasted. Then if you CAN get them into the already steaming pot (per their instructions) without getting a steam burn, you are indeed quick and agile! We won't even talk about getting them out of the pot, then out of the pod "skin"! One of them tipped over while putting the pod in the pot, and when it was said and done...tasted better than the one in the pod, which gave the food a weird taste. Used 6 eggs total to give the product a fair shake! (Got one fair from it!)

Above all, the plain attempt to deceive by the distributor, was also clearly evidenced by the shipping and handling fee> A small envelope, and they can be RETURNED for one standard stamp! Don't be fooled. I will never go to this distribulote again due to their obvious lack of integrity! I will also write Amazon, because this crap also affects their name.

Customer Review: Impressed: Perfectly Poached Eggs
Summary: 4 Stars

Although somewhat delicate, I was pleased with the results of the poached eggs--perfect consistency. (I'd definitely recommend using the lid on your pot of water though.) Clean-up was also a snap. I flipped the pods inside-out and they were clean in a second. Now, compare that to the scraping you'd have to do if you put eggs in another poaching device.

Customer Review: LOVE THEM!
Summary: 5 Stars

These little things are awesome! I had an egg poaching pan but it seems to have disappeared.. When looking to get a new one I came across the poach pods and thought it was a great idea - if they worked. They do work - quite well. If you follow the instructions you will have perfectly poached eggs that slide right out of the pod. You will also have more room in your cupboards since you now don't need a 'uni-tasker' pan for poached eggs.

Customer Review: Less mess poached eggs
Summary: 4 Stars

These are really handy for a less mess version of making poached eggs. I feel like they aren't as fool proof as they claim to be, because it took some getting used to on the cooking time (but I think it depends on if you want the slightly runny or firm eggs). I'm also pretty sure that the light green cook at a different rate than the darker green, because despite starting them at the same time one always comes out a little runnier than the other, consistently the light green.

Once you get used to them, they're awesome to use, and really do save on clean up. I'd recommend them.
