This little sharpener really does the trick, if your scissors fit into it. I bought it especially to sharpen a pair of kitchen shears that were short, stubby, and not cutting anything anymore. Just a few strokes on the sharpener made them good as new. At work, my coworker and I went on a tear sharpening all the scissors we could find. What fun! Only one pair could not be sharpened, because the plastic blade guards made them too thick to fit. After opening the package up, went and got a "very dull" pair of everyday used scissors and sharpened them. Am totally impressed with this sharpener!!! The scissors are just like "new" again. Am so happy to have ordered this item. I would recommend this to my friends and family as a great purchase!

So I bought a few of these because I have friends with the same fishers scissors to sharpen, I tried to use it for the first time and it fell apart. So no sharp scissors only a pile of broken plastic.
