Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Fasta Pasta The Microwave CookerCustomer Review: AWESOME!! Summary: 5 Stars
A coworker recommended this product to me. I purchased it literally because I didn't believe it would work. And I was way wrong. The pasta cooked perfectly, didn't stick together at all -- and best of all, it was ready in less time than it would have taken to just boil the water on the stovetop.
I absolutely recommend this product to anyone who hates to boil pasta water. And everyone else too.
Customer Review: Absolute Best "Seen-on-TV" Product Summary: 5 Stars
My mother-in-law purchased two of these after seeing an infommercial about them. I had never purchased anything I had seen on TV and was skeptical, to say the least. But, after using the Fasta Pasta, I've changed my tune. I don't even boil pasta in pots anymore. I've cooked all types of noodles, including spaghetti, ravioli, tortellini, lasagna, and more in my Fasta Pasta, and it works perfectly. You do have to get the hang of how much time each type of noodle needs, but that is super easy to do. Plus, once the noodles are cooked, it has a built in strainer so I don't have to dirty anything else!
Customer Review: Absolutely Love It! Summary: 5 Stars
I love pasta but never fix it as I hate dragging out the heavy pot I was using. This is easy, light weight and cooks the pasta great. There was no boil over, draining was a breeze and fit easily into the dishwasher. I was pleasantly surprised! Would recommend to anyone!!!
Customer Review: Absolutely fantastic! (good for cooking for toddlers) Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this item because I was tired of going through the process of boiling water for a small amount of pasta. First you have to wait for the water to boil, then you have to cook the pasta, then you have to strain the pasta. I do realize that's not really a lot of work, but if you've got a toddler in your life, who doesn't eat a wide variety of foods, but one of the food items is pasta - then this beats doing any of the above any day.
I've cooked many types of pasta and many different amounts, and it's been great so far. No boil overs, no messing up a pot and strainer - it cooks the pasta in the container and the pasta is strained from the container as well.
If none of that convinces you to buy it, then just think about the convenience of putting this in the microwave and being able to leave the room until the microwave indicates the time is up. You really can't do that with a pot of boiling water.
Just fantastic and perfect for quick pasta cooking!
Customer Review: Angel Hair Mush Summary: 1 Stars
I've never found myself so at odds with so many good reviews, but here goes...I bought this on the basis of all the raves and was looking forward to saving time cooking pasta, as well as saving the cost of heating up that big pot of water on the stovetop. We eat angel hair pasta a couple of times a week. I tried to prepare it twice with this cooker--the first time for the minimum time in the range given, the second time for a minute less; both times I ended up with an inedible lump of mush. Tonight I tried cooking for half the time, then tasting and continuing to cook in 30-second increments. The last 30 seconds took me from crunchy undercooked to ... mush again. Maybe it's just angel hair? Maybe it's my microwave? I followed the directions exactly as far as measuring the pasta, adding the water to the appropriate lines, cooking without the lid. Can't understand it--but this is definitely going back.
