This really is a great little pasta cooker. It eliminates the need to boil a potful of water and then watch, stir and test the pasta. Although not much water is used, there isn't any excess starch after draining. I avoid overcooking the pasta and then leave it in the hot water for a couple of minutes before draining if it is too al dente.
When I misplaced the directions I was happy to find that I could download and print them from the Fasta Pasta website, along with other recipes. Wish I'd had this cooker when I lived on a boat!

Cooking pasta isn't rocket science, but when a product can make your life easier, saves time, uses less energy, and saves water all at the same time, it's got my vote. I'd heard about Fasta Pasta from a co-worker who swore by it- he's a bachelor like me who hates fast food but doesn't like to do a bunch of cooking after working all day (who does?). I really didn't believe that it would work, but bought one anyway. Boy, was I wrong! I didn't have to check on it, stir it, test it - nothing - and in less than 15 minutes with less than 2 cups of water I had perfect pasta, with no boil-over either. I also bought the cookbook, and it rocks too.
Every recipe can be prepared in 15 min while your pasta is cooking - my kind of recipes! The Shrimp in Wine Sauce is outstanding- I have it at least once a week now. I highly recommend this product.

While I have so far only used the Fasta Pasta for single servings (which for me is about four ounces, probably double what the pasta package describes as a serving), it has performed flawlessly. This process uses only a fraction of the four quarts of water I used to need, and I can be doing other things while the microwave counts down the 11-minute cooking time--no more prolonged scrutiny, wondering when the water on the stovetop will begin to boil so that the pasta can be added. There also seems to be a lot less residue created, and the dishwasher space required for the Fasta Pasta maker is minimal.Customer Review: A kitchen must have

This is really a Kitchen must have.
I'm not a microwave cooker, but this works perfect if you follow the directions, and do not put the lid on while cooking in your microwave.
Only use the lid for taking out of the microwave, and draining.
I made wholewheat pasta , and it was perfect and did not stick.
Also egg noodles came out perfect.
I like to wash the starch off of my pasta, and with this I still can with out useing a collender.
Using this, I do not have to wait for the water to boil, nothing boils over on my stove, and there is not a callender to wash either. No mess at all.
I put this on the top shelf of my dishwasher, it washed with out a problem.
I bought mine from qvc, and it came with two, for more money then this, but still a good price..
Would buy again..

I bought the Fasta Pasta about three months ago because I hate heating up the kitchen with boiling water for spaghetti for one. I LOVE IT! I had planned on buying one I had seen advertised on TV, but after reading the reviews, chose the Fasta Pasta. Not only does it cook pasta perfectly, I can also cook rice and whole grains. I've done more cooking since I got my Fasta Pasta than I had done in a long time. Their customer service is great, too. I had a question about cooking quinoa, and got an answer in less than 24 hours
