This scale has the features I want -- tare (zero out to add new items) and weighs in both ounces and grams (I can finally make all those blog recipes without trying to convert to American measurements!) Its footprint is small enough that I can keep it on the counter. I bought it six months ago and it still works perfectly.Customer Review: Great for backpacking

I'm learning the joys of ultralight backpacking, where a heavy pack doesn't quench the joy of the trail. However, in order to truly go ultralight, even tiny weight savings count.
This scale makes it easy to weigh everything from floss to a core pack (which ideally should weigh less than eleven pounds before adding food, clothes, and water).
I chuckled about recommendations to cut half the handle off a toothbrush until this scale verified I had cut considerably more than half the weight. My camp sandals didn't seem like big deal until I realized they weighed as much as four pairs of light flip-flops. I also found that advertised weights for outdoor gear are sometimes inaccurate due to undocumented design changes.
This scale is small and light enough to take to the store and weigh items before buying. If you are spending big bucks for backpacking gear, this inexpensive scale will help you spend that money more wisely and can quickly pay for itself.

I bought this scale to help me & my husband with our Weight Watchers & portion control. It's FANTASTIC. It is so easy to use & shuts off by itself when it goes idle. We've had this for over 6 months and use it increasingly more as we realize how great it is for watching portions, measuring ingredients for non-American recipes or even for just figuring out postage. It seemed quite flimsy and I seriously considered sending it back and finding another, but I am so glad I kept it. It has held up and doesn't seem to show much wear at all. Overall very impressed and happy.
