I am very, very pleased with this scale. I've had it for several weeks now, and used it to measure just about everything I could. It does everything it said it would, and so far I have experienced absolutely no problems. It is also very easy to clean, lightweight and looks good on my countertop. I am an insulin-dependent diabetic who needs to wear an insulin pump in order to keep tight control of my health condition.
Over the years, I have been measuring food portions with measuring cups, then taking my carb count and calculating how much insulin I need for what I'm eating. Sometimes, using those cups isn't accurate enough (and is sometimes messy)!!
Since purchasing this extremely nice scale, doing all of that work has gotten so much easier and accurate. I set the scale to measure in grams, so every time I look at the back of a food package I look at that measurement (usually in parenthesis) rather than the old inaccurate cup measurement. Then, I put my plate, bowl, etc., on the scale and zero out it's weight using the tare button, weigh one item, zero it out again, etc. for additional meal items. It makes getting exact portion sizes EXTREMELY easy, and has allowed me even tighter control of my glucose levels!
I LOVE this scale, and I'm sure that my doctor will too when I have my next A1C done!
I recommend this for EVERYONE who needs precise measuring of foods for health or dietary needs!
...as an aside, I've used it once as well for weighing mail, so that I could print postage at home. :)

I purchased this scale after reading the reviews and despite the negative posts about a weak battery compartment cover. I found the cover to be more than adequate. Perhaps it's be re-engineered since those posts but frankly you'd have to try and break the cover. The scale does an excellent job doing what I bought it for, weighing food. Absolute accuracy, if this is a problem, is not required when you are weighing out 3 oz of chicken.Customer Review: Excellent scale, great value!

I have had my Escali digital scale for about a year now, and use it for everything from large amounts of flour to the tiniest amounts of seasonings, and have been very pleased with it's accuracy. It's also nice that it has an auto-shutoff feature to save batteries, because I forget to turn it off all the time!It's small and can be stored easily, is very easy to wipe clean, and I like the price tag- I've seen similar scales selling for twice as much elsewhere.
I have to mention that this scale is also a really durable little guy! My scale fell off the top of my refrigerator (nearly 7 feet), and bounced off of the freezer door on the way down, and yet it tuned on right away and was still in perfect working order. That was a few months ago and it's still accurate down to a few grains of salt.
I'd recommend this scale and brand to anyone!

There are many electronic scales on the market for use in the kitchen, but most are overpriced, limited in weighing capacity, and limited in features. This scale isn't the fanciest, but it doesn't cost the most, it has an 11 lb capacity, it remembers your display settings from one use to the next, and it takes standard batteries which don't cost and arm and a leg. Highly recommended.
